I agree that if you want t...There's trinity.com
I agree that if you want this to move to another level designers should get some sort of remuneration. But firstly I don't think the free stuff is holding anything back, the missing option for getting paid is. Secondly this transition is difficult you mentioned yourself the printability of the models. But that goes beyond just the model, but (as I'm sure you know and agree) this depends also greatly on printer and filament used. Right now print success is close to hit and miss for complex models. Thirdly don't underestimate that the community for a large part is steeped in open source, and amongst that crowd the extremists believe the fuzzy feeling is all you should expect. Personally I believe this is one of the reasons something like Linux has taken so long to become mainstream (which it barely is). This also means that for these people you do not stand a chance if you don't have the ability to "contribute" back - as money is anathema. Also recall the animosity against makerbot (not that I know much about the reasons but from what I have seen I does seem they didn't play fair) but even despite that hostility thingiverse still thrives- old habits die hardAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11079548907032622062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7535318096444893057.post-21459357633883320402016-07-16T13:33:25.072-07:002016-07-16T13:33:25.072-07:00Hey Joe - Kurt here!

Sure - I've posted a limited # of models for free on Thingiverse - but, they were essentially the most Simplistic of models. I have had people suggest in the past that I upload my Dragon model - which I find ludicrous - since they don't understand that my design time alone in creating may be pushing upwards of 100 Hours!!!

So - yeah - cudos for these videos!

Lr,
-K-Professor-3Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01192187678780350222noreply@blogger.com
